Hi all, this is my cats side of neck, it’s been like this for about a month. There’s no blood when you touch it but the area has gotten bigger over them month I think from her scratching at it. Not sure if worth taking to the vet or home remedies that will help it get better?

Welcome, that's one great question there and Thanks for bringing it to the Forum, IF a person was still able to find Terramycin ointment, it's really turned into a tuff cookie to find over the past couple years, probably because it works AND would clear that up in a few days, for that reason, I'd consider the vet, he/she will probably give you an ointment much like the old Terramycin.............

If your cat's neck has a spot that's been irritated for about a month and has gotten larger from scratching, it’s a good idea to take them to the vet for a proper diagnosis. Skin issues can be caused by a variety of factors, including allergies, parasites, infections, or even stress, and scratching can make things worse or introduce infection.
In the meantime, you can try to discourage scratching by covering the area with a soft cone collar, which can help prevent further irritation. However, home remedies may not fully address the underlying issue, and some treatments might even make it worse if the exact cause isn’t known. The vet can provide the best guidance, potentially prescribe a topical treatment, or suggest ways to prevent it from spreading or becoming infected.
